It's Giving... Tuesday!

We made it through the pounds of stuffing and mashed potatoes.

We survived the craziness of the launch of the shopping season.

We even are finding some time to sneak away for those online ‘cyber’ deals between important work emails.

Tuesday is almost here. Giving Tuesday, to be exact, but why is that important?

Well, to be honest, while Giving Tuesday is a global movement for individuals and families to make charitable giving a part of their seasonal plans, just as much as those other things mentioned above, it is a piece of a larger puzzle for nonprofit organizations to get in front of donors for vital mission-advancement funding. For SADD, Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to showcase who we are, what we do, and the need for support. In doing so, we continue our efforts to raise vital funds for the work of elevating youth voices on issues important to them to make healthy decisions that impact their lives and the lives of their peers.

So, what’s Giving Tuesday for SADD?

It’s the Clarence, NY SADD Chapter organizing a food collection and fundraising event around the Thanksgiving holiday, helping nine families in their community during the holiday with turkeys and the works.

It’s the Watford City, ND SADD Chapter holding a Red Ribbon Week event that highlighted the importance of physical and mental health, as well as looking for signs of drug use and abuse in others, to the entire school.

It’s individual students like Aarushi, SADD’s Student Leadership Council President, who is proud to say that SADD has allowed her to share her voice and vision for a healthier future, inspiring her to be a leader in creating meaningful change.

It’s adult allies like John, a SADD chapter advisor, who know that when students take on important topics like traffic safety, mental health, and substance use prevention, it is important to support them and ensure they have the tools to advance this vital work in their schools and communities.

Your support this Giving Tuesday helps put faces, names, and stories behind the thousands of chapters, tens of thousands of student leaders, and hundreds of thousands of student engagements that is SADD across the United States.
