Lauren Zimmerman-Meade (she/her/hers) is currently directing statewide initiatives as the New York State SADD Coordinator. Lauren works to build our SADD network across the Empire State, developing chapters, mentoring chapter advisors, creating new partnerships, and encouraging youth across the State to take on greater leadership roles in peer-to-peer prevention education.
Prior to joining SADD in 2019, Lauren worked in a host of other advocacy and youth-centered prevention spaces, serving as the Director of Community Engagement for Planned Parenthood of the North Country New York and Education Coordinator for Parents for Megan’s Law & The Crime Victims Center. Lauren earned a Master's degree from the University at Albany and has presented at various national conferences in the youth prevention sphere. She is a proud SADD Alumni and truly has a passion for working with our young leaders across SADD Nation to create change. In her free time, she volunteers with agencies focused on the fight against breast cancer, increasing equity for all, and expanding voter access, as well as mentoring students through her college Alumni Association.
She’s an obsessed dog mom that enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, traveling, watching hockey, and trying to finish DIY home projects.
