MA SADD is now on Facebook!
Below please find the link to MA SADD's recently created Facebook organization page!  The page was started in an effort to connect with SADD students on a regular basis and to give them an outlet to share their thoughts and opinions.  The page will also be used to spread the word and post photos about events.

On the page you'll find pictures from our MA SADD Conference and information on our upcoming event -- March SADDness!  Please share this news with your SADD chapter and have them share it with their friends.  We'd like to get as many fans as possible!

Move Over Law
On December 22, 2008, Governor Patrick signed Senate No. 2103, An Act Relative to Operating a Motor Vehicle When Approaching Stationary Emergency Vehicles, into law. The passage of the “Move Over Law” will protect roadside service workers and public safety officials on our highways. The legislation requires motorists to move over one traffic lane when approaching a stationary emergency roadside vehicle if it is safe to do so. If the volume of vehicles on the roadway does not allow for a safe lane shift, then the motorist is required to reduce their speed to a reasonable and safe level for road conditions. Violators will be faced with a ticket up to $100.

For more information on the law, please go to: http://www.mass.gov/legis/laws/seslaw08/sl080418.htm  This would be a great law to publicize with your SADD chapter!

Morning School Announcements
Making daily announcements over the school intercom system is a great way for SADD chapters to promote safety messages. Use these announcements to publicize the new teen driving laws in Massachusetts. For more information on the new Junior Operator Laws (JOL), visit the RMV Web site at mass.gov/rmv.
