of Drug Control Bill Janes, and other special guests joined SADD students
for a press conference and lantern ceremony on the front steps of the Capitol
building in Tallahassee. Governor Jeb Bush issued a SADD Day proclamation.
Governor Sonny Perdue issued a SADD Day proclamation. Officials from the
Governors Office of Highway Safety and other government leaders joined
Pepperell High School SADD for a lantern ceremony in Lindale.
Indiana SADD hosted a birthday bash at Club Neptune in Fort Wayne
for students under 21. Their SADD advisors and parents were also invited.
A lantern ceremony kicked off the substance-free party.
Law enforcement officials from the Topeka Police Department, Kansas
Highway Patrol, and Shawnee County Sheriffs Department joined SADD
students, parents, and community members for a lantern ceremony at a cemetery

Several high school and middle schools participated in a community event
at the State Capitol Memorial Hall in Bismarck. A lantern ceremony was held

SADD students will celebrate SADD's 25th Birthday at the Pennsylvania
SADD annual conference in November. A panel discussion will focus on the
history of SADD, and a lantern ceremony will be held during the closing
session of the conference. Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell issued a
SADD Day proclamation.
SADD President and Executive Director Penny Wells and Vermont Lieutenant
Governor Brian Dubie joined youth from across the state for a press conference
and lantern ceremony on the steps of the State House in Montpelier. Students
representing almost every SADD chapter in the state attended. Governor Jim
Douglas issued a SADD Day proclamation.
