SADD Safety Fair:
"Putting SAFETY Into DRIVE for Another 25"

SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is celebrating 25 years of empowering youth right where it all began – in Massachusetts. SADD is hosting a Safety Fair at Boston’s City Hall Plaza on Monday, July 17, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public and will feature fun, interactive, and educational exhibits and entertainment, including SIDNE (Simulated Impaired DriviNg Experience), the New England Revolution’s "Street Team" and mascot Slyde, and the Mix 98.5 ice cream truck. Guest speakers Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Survivor winner Ethan Zohn will offer remarks at the 10:30 a.m. press event.

WHAT: The Safety Fair, "Putting SAFETY Into DRIVE for Another 25"
Experience interactive and educational exhibits like the roll-over simulator, SIDNE (Simulated Impaired DriviNg Experience), and the Safety Sim, witness dynamic street performers and magicians with a message, and win prizes at the Quick Click Buckle Up Challenge and from the pro soccer team, The New England Revolution’s "street team" and mascot. The fair will provide news about innovative programs and products as well as up-to-date information about many issues youth face today, such as underage drinking, illicit drug use, eating disorders, violence prevention, suicide, driving safety, and much more. Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino will welcome participants and Survivor winner, Ethan Zohn will offer remarks.

WHEN: Monday, July 17, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The fair will close out the four-day SADD National Conference on Monday, July 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Representatives from the media are invited to witness the powerful energy and revolutionary work that SADD students are doing nationwide and a press conference will take place at 10:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
