Please note that there is a minimum of 30 participants for the Whale Watch, Cambridge/ Lexington/Concord (Orchard House) Tour, and Plimoth Plantation Tour and a minimum of 35 participants for the Salem Tour. If the minimum is not met, you will be placed on one of your other tour choices. Every effort will be made to provide you with your first choice.

Participants will be picked up at the hotel and returned to the hotel at the conclusion of their tour. No transportation will be provided to the airport for departure. All meals are on your own during the tour.

Participants must purchase the additional sightseeing packages for the side trips. In the event that there are not enough people attending the extra tours, you will be notified by WorldStrides.

Whale Watching

Boston Harbor Cruises (BHC) proudly offers Boston’s only three-hour whale watch cruise on their high-speed catamarans. They will get you to and from the whales in less time, which allows you more time to have fun whale watching. And all of their trips are narrated by professional researchers from the Whale Center of New England, the region’s foremost authority on the whale population. Please note that the waters may be rough and choppy. This tour may not be for everyone.

Salem Witch Tour

Take a guided tour and journey to Salem and see Nathaniel Hawthorne’s House of the Seven Gables, the famous Salem Witch Museum, and much more. Let us take you into the past to recount the history of these famous townships.

Cambridge/Lexington/Concord (Orchard House)

Begin with a journey into the historic countryside towns of Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord. Follow the route of Paul Revere as he warned the countryside "The regulars (British soldiers) are coming!" Stand on Lexington Green, where Captain Jonathan Parker and 77 Minutemen stood their ground against 700 of England’s finest regulars. In Concord, journey past the homes of novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne, Little Women author Louisa May Alcott, and essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Plimoth Plantation

Journey four centuries into the past and experience historic Plimoth Plantation. Become part of the Pilgrims’ 17th century world in this living museum and accompany them as they go about their daily tasks. Visit the "Thanksgiving: Memory, Myth & Meaning" exhibit, watch artisans at work in the Crafts Center, and observe rare livestock at Nye Barn. View Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II or climb Cole’s Hill. Come discover this living history experience.

Call For Programs

Calling all presenters! The 2006 SADD National Conference planning committee is looking for innovative workshops. We reach out to you, the experts in the field, to submit a proposal to facilitate a workshop and share your expertise at this year’s conference to be held at the Boston Marriott Cambridge Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 14-17, 2006. Maybe you have an expertise in leadership and chapter development or extensive knowledge in the areas of alcohol and other drug use, safe driving issues, suicide, or one of the many other issues facing youth today. Your SADD chapter or organization may have developed a program you would like to share so others might replicate it and share in your success. Although the committee is unable to select all of the proposals that are submitted, we will do our best to select the most appropriate and well-rounded selection of workshops for the conference. Workshop proposal forms are due no later than March 15, 2006. Selection notification will be made in early April.

Program proposals may be submitted to Felicity DeBacco-Erni either by mail to PA SADD, 2413 N. Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or by e-mail to fdebacco@padui.org. The deadline for submission is March 15, 2006.
